Open Space is a multi-user audio experience directed by Liam Taylor West. The installation uses Vive trackers attached to headphones to position participants within a shared virtual space, allowing movement and proximity to influence how sound behaves.

I was Lead Unity Developer on Open Space, responsible for networking, systems design, and the spatial authoring system that defined each performance. This included integrating tracking data from Vive trackers to accurately position users in the shared space and building a show control system to synchronise system state across mobile devices carried by each participant.

The custom authoring system allowed sound designers to spatially organise audio elements within the environment and define their shape and behaviour. This included movement patterns and sounds that changed dynamically based on how many users were listening at any given time.
