Aardman
We Wait is a virtual reality experience created in collaboration between Aardman Animations and BBC Connected Studio. The 10-minute Oculus Rift experience is based on real accounts of Syrian migrants’ journeys and has been showcased at events including Sheffield Doc/Fest, in the Houses of Parliament, and at the United Nations in Geneva.
I was Lead Unity Developer on We Wait, responsible for overall application build, the real-time interactive and visual systems that supported the experience. My work covered shader development, lighting implementation, VFX, performance optimisation, and QA on PC-based VR hardware. I also helped set up a time- and budget-constrained motion capture pipeline used to create character performances for the project.
